Our June 27, 2017 general meeting is a very important one. There are many organizations in our city that influence our lives that we may know little about. We have invited two of them to talk about their organizations. Stephen Hanson, President, The Committee of 100 and Philip Pannell, Executive Director, The Anacostia Coordinating Council. They will give us a history of their organizations and their mission.
We will also conduct the election of Board members for the 2017 – 2018 term. The slate is as follows:
Earl Williams – Hillcrest Community Civic Association
Juliet Six – Tenleytown Neighbors Association
Sara Maddox – West End Citizens Association
Nick Kauffman – Palisades Citizens Association
Ed Adkins – Shepherd Park Citizens Association
Andre Carley – Concerned Neighbors, Inc.
George R. Clark – Forest Hills
Patricia Clark – Glover Park Citizens Association
George Idelson – Cleveland Park Citizens Association
Ed Potillo – Hillcrest Community Civic Association
Joan Sterling – Shaw-Dupont Citizens Alliance
David Smith – Deanwood Civic Association
Toya Carmichael – Hillcrest Community Civic Association
Anyone wishing to be considered for a Board position should submit a bio describing your community service to email@example.com by June 22, 2017.
The Federation Board voted to support Bill 22-0044 the “Senior Citizens Tax Relief Amendment Act of 2017”. Here’s a link to the online record:
Along with Councilmember Gray, the Bill was co-introduced by Councilmembers R. White, McDuffie, Bonds, Evans, T. White and Todd. Grosso also co-sponsored the Bill. We know this legislation will benefit a large segment of District residents.
